1926 is the year Hans Wilsdorf had the trademark The Tudor registered through a Geneva dealer; watches carrying the name were sold from then on, but the company Montres Tudor SA was founded only on 6 March 1946. Tudor has produced watches continuously since and has always belonged to Rolex, through the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation; it withdrew from the American market in 2004 and returned in 2013.
